FAQ Lofoten Bed & Breakfast

How is the climate / weather in Lofoten?

The weather in the north of Norway is changing quickly. Be prepared for a variety of weather conditions, but always bring along warm clothing.

Where can I find parking?

Lofoten Bed & Breakfast’s guests can park for free across the street in the parking lot that’s shared with Galleri Eva Harr.

How do I check in?

You may check-in any time after 15:00 (3:00pm). On the day of your arrival, once your room/apartment is ready, you will receive an e-mail and SMS / text message with a code to unlock the room.
Please note that you need to finalize payment prior to your arrival and it’s not possible for us to send you a code before payment has been received and your room is cleaned and ready for check-in.

What do I do at check-out?

Please depart the room / apartment no later than 11:00am. To check-out, simply close the door behind you when you leave. Remember to take all your personal belongings with you, and don’t forget to continue enjoying Lofoten!

Must I present my booking documents during check-in?

No, we do not require this. For environmental reasons, we prefer that you refrain from printing your booking documents. You will receive all necessary information by e-mail and SMS / text message on the day of check-in.

Where can I buy food and other groceries?

The closest grocery store is Coop Prix, located 2.5 kilometres from Lofoten Bed & Breakfast. Circle K, which is located just 200 meters away in the centre of Reine, also has a small selection of groceries.

Are there any restaurants nearby?

You will find two restaurants and a café in the centre of Reine (200 meters from Lofoten Bed & Breakfast).

Do you have Wi-Fi?

Yes, we offer free Wi-Fi to all our guests. Network passwords will be emailed in advance of your stay.

Can I wash my clothes at Lofoten Bed & Breakfast?

As of today, only our three-bedroom apartment, Lofotveggen, has a washing machine.

Do your rooms / apartments have TVs?

Given the area’s beautiful natural surroundings, we have made a conscious decision to exclude TVs from most of our rooms. If you prefer to have the opportunity to watch TV, you may book one of our apartments, which are equipped with Apple TVs.

Can I use the bed and breakfast’s garden?

Absolutely! We encourage all our guests to enjoy our garden.

How far is it to Reinebringen?

Lofoten Bed & Breakfast is so lucky to have mount Reinebringen as its nearest neighbour. From our location, it takes about 8 minutes to walk to the start of the stairs. For the latest trail updates, check Reinebringen’s own Facebook page.

Can I cook in my room / apartment?

It depends on which room you have booked. We have two apartments that have fully equipped kitchens, and we have two rooms with kitchenettes. Unfortunately, we do not have a shared kitchen available for the other rooms.

Will I get clean towels during my stay?

As an accommodation provider, we strive to be as environmentally conscious as possible. As such, we do not automatically supply clean towels every day. Should you want or require fresh towels during your stay, you are welcome to ask a member of our staff.

May I borrow a hair dryer?

No problem. Hair dryers are available in all our rooms.

Can I store my luggage at Lofoten Bed & Breakfast?

Our guests have access to a luggage storage room. A separate code for the storage room is available upon request.

Can I grill food outdoors?

We have a large terrace where one of the tables has an integrated grill in the middle. You are welcome to use this.

What kind of breakfast is included?

We serve all our guests a traditional Norwegian breakfast.

Is Lofoten Bed & Breakfast accessible for people with disabilities?

Lofoten Bed & Breakfast is unfortunately not wheelchair friendly, but we strive to be helpful in finding solutions, so feel free to contact us.

Are guide dogs permitted?

Yes, if you have a guide dog, it is welcome to stay with you at Lofoten bed & breakfast.

Do you have a reception area?

We have no official reception area, but we have staff in the building most of the day.

What are your rules regarding cancellation and refund?

The room booking can be cancelled free of charge up to 14 days before arrival.

How is the climate / weather in Lofoten?

Can I wash and dry my clothes while staying at the cabins?

As of today, only the Høvesbua cabin is furnished with a washing machine and dryer.

Can I park nearby?

There is parking available next to the cabins. If you stay in the Høvesbua cabin, the parking is approximately 50 metres away.

How do I check in?

You may check-in any time after 15:00 (3:00pm). On the day of your arrival, once your room/apartment is ready, you will receive an e-mail and SMS / text message with a code to unlock a key box that’s next to the front door.
Please note that you need to finalize payment prior to your arrival and it’s not possible for us to send you a code before payment has been received and your cabin is cleaned and ready for check-in.

What do I do at check-out?

Please depart the cabin no later than 11:00am. To check-out, simply close and lock the door behind you and then lock the key in the key box. Remember to take all your personal belongings with you, and don’t forget to continue enjoying Lofoten!

Where can I buy food and other groceries?

The nearest grocery stores are Matkroken, which is located 800 meters from the rorbuer fisherman’s cabins, and Joker, which is located approximately 1 kilometre away.

Are there any restaurants nearby?

You will find two restaurants and a café in the village of Sørvågen.

Is there Wi-Fi in the Buodden Rorbuer fisherman’s cabins?

Yes, we offer free Wi-Fi to all our cabin guests. Network passwords will be emailed in advance of your stay.

Do the Buodden Rorbuer fisherman’s cabins have TVs?

Yes, all the cabins are equipped a TV.

Will I get clean towels during my stay?

No, breakfast is unfortunately not included in a stay at Buodden Rorbuer. If you would like to start your day with a delicious, Norwegian breakfast, a stay at Lofoten Bed & Breakfast might be the right choice for you!

Are the cabins accessible for people with disabilities?

The cabins are unfortunately not wheelchair friendly, but we strive to be helpful whenever possible, so feel free to contact us about a possible solution

Absolutely! At the Buodden Rorbuer fisherman’s cabins, you will have magnificent nature just outside your door. Feel free to see our tour suggestions.
